It's a girl...

...puppy

Meet Lanie. She is Mr. Tripp's birthday gift. She is a miniature bull terrier but even though she's a "mini" she will still be about 30lbs when she'd full grown.
She cry's at night, bites the kids, and goes to the bathroom in the house.
YEAH!!! puppies are fun.

Thrift Store Finds

Happy Easter!

I know I'm a day late but it was a crazy weekend. On Friday our new puppy came in from Texas, I'll post pictures of her soon. Saturday Mr. Tripp and I had a funeral to attend. It was less of a funeral and more of a celebrations. Our friend Kevin lived the kind of life that most could only aspire to live. Over 700 people came show the love to Kevin's family and celebrate him moving into his new house with the Lord.
And Sunday was Easter.
Can I get a HE HAS RISEN!!!

Any now today is Monday. My shopping day and shopping was good. Mr. Tripp cooked so much food for Easter dinner that we should be in leftovers of at least 3 if not 4 days. So shopping at Aldi's today was a breeze. Just a block away from Aldi's is goodwill. I was looking of size 2 boys shoes for PJ to play in, a king size wooden bed frame or a least head board and a tortilla press. I didn't find any of those things but I did find TONS of other treasurers.

Wooden cutting board $2, round baking stone $2, Pyrex bowl $3.00 and spring form pan $5

Milk glass vase $3, Three mason jars with old fashion lids $2 each, a bit steep but the lids are way cool and still have the glass seal inside of them and wooden napkin rings for $1.

We struck Elmo gold! A Elmo book for $.60, Elmo slippers $2 and a Elmo phone with battery that work $1. Penny has had her eye on this phone for a couple of months but I kept waiting for it to go on sale. ONLY $1.00! We are both thrilled with this great find.

I also got a two sided ironing board $3 and a Card wreath that I'm going to re-purpose $2.

Last week I picked up a couple of steals too.
Set of four ceramic jars $10.00 for the set.

A set of 10 glasses for $3.00. My grandmother had these same glass at her house when I was a little girl. I don't know what happened to them after she passed but I will be remind me of her when we use them.

There was some many other thing I wanted to get today but didn't, a giant mirror, Thomas the train play table, a huge grape vine wreath, cook book stand and many other trinkets but I refrained. We just don't have any space left.

coupon crazy

My friend has turned into a coupon-o-haulic. And she's been trying to get my to jump on her crazy coupon clipping band wagon. Honestly to me it seems like a whole lot of work to save a couple of bucks. Driving to all the different store, hunting thru adds, matching the best coupons to the best adds. REALY, just typing all that was to much work. But she just keeps going on and on about $.17 battery and free toothbrush so I thought OK I'll try it once. But no running all over. One store and one newspaper and 10 minutes of online coupon printing.

I hit Rite Aid. First I signed up for their +up rewards cards. It support to save you money and get you better deals.
1. Huggies diapers $19.99 minus $3 online coupon and $1 +up rewards That make $15.99 for 83 diapers.

2. goodnight sleep pants $11.99 minus $2 newspaper coupon = $9.99

3. Gummie Vites $6.99 each, with the +up rewards card I got them for BOGO free. So I saved 6.99.

4. Hair dye $9.99 each. On sale 2 for $17, minus $4 in add coupon and a $5 +up rewards. So I only paid $4 a bottle.

5. Gain full price is $8.99. On sale for $4.99 minus $2 coupon = $2.99.

Keeping track? Full price I would have paid $74.93
After coupons I paid $43.96
Thats a saving of $30.97

So... my friend was right.
I'll be jumping on the coupon wagon after all.

I can't decorate

I'm petty bad at decorating. But I like to do a little something every holiday for the kids. Plus I'm super cheap... well Mr. Tripp's super cheap and I try to be respectful of his cheapness.

So... Plastic Eggs... Yep, Plastic Eggs. That all I got.

Oh yeah I have a tiny bunny too.

Happy Easter!

And then there were TWO

So far our house hunting has taken us through 13 house's. Two of them are definitely contenders.
We have some big decisions to make.

I'm blue

Today was CRAPTASTIC! I'm not even going to tell you about it. Mr Tripp said that today should be left out of the "history books" and would have to agree.

Instead I'm going to talk about kitchens and paint.
It's only been a Year since we painted our kitchen red and I have enjoyed it. BUT... I never grew to love it like I thought I would.
I have something a little bluer on the mind.

I'm crushing pretty hard on the blue kitchens.
