bath makeover

About two months ago Mr. Tripp went to Texas for 5 days. So well he was out of town I gave our upstairs bathroom a makeover. New paint (surf city), shower curtain ($15 from Target), rug (gift from a Friend) and new vanity mirrors (to cut the clutter).

It cost about $150.00 for the paint, supplies and new shower curtain. The mirror about the toilet was one of the old vanity mirrors I spray painted white and the wreath came from my dinning room, they got a white paint job too.

Mr. Tripp was impressed and really liked the color.

sunny days

I have had a ton of stuff on my plate, on my shoulders and on my heart these past few days.

When I first started my blog I decided to ALWAYS keep it on the sunny side. I have no intentions of passing my burdens on to you. God can handle them. So I give then to him.

Nothing helps me to see the silver liner in my clouds better than my kiddos.

Remember friends words can't be taken back, action can't be undone and bells can not be unrung.

Speak the truth but only in love.

2

TWO, TWO, TWO, TWO, TWO.
My baby is two today.

Each of my children brings so much wonder and joy into my life. Penelope is my funny girl. She makes me laugh, so hard. She is my cuddlier too. Penny was well worth the 42 weeks of pregnancy and c-section it took to get her out. I can't begin to express how much I love her.

I am so thankful that I have gotten to be with her every day over the past two years.

Happy Birthday Penny!

Graduation

My miss Ella did it!. She graduated Pre-school. I'm was not one of the moms crying at her graduation. Lets get real, It's Pre-school. I am very proud of her, the work she did and what she learned, I just didn't think it was a water shed moment.

By the end of this week I will "officially" be a momma to a 4th graded, 3rd grader, 1st grader and a kindergardener. Thats right, ALL four big kids will be in school all day long next year. What will I do with myself with just one kiddo at home with me???

Yeah Ella! Momma & Daddy our so proud of you.

Oh the sales

It's Garage sale season. And the seasons is off to a great start. In the past three weekends I have found some GREAT deals. Today alone I when to two Church rummage sales and about five other sales.

I'm always on the look out for a few big items like a king size head board, large picture frames, white dishes and bowl and kids cloths. I have also had my eyes open of a new coffee maker, lamp shades and anything farm related for the girls big "down on the farm" birthday party this summer.

1. LL Bean tote $2.00
2. Pants for Ella & PJ $.25 each. The brown pants are from the Gap.
3. Mr. Tripp found this lamp on the side of the road. FREE! It need a new shade but other than that it works great and the base is the prettiest shade of aqua.
4. old globe $2.00

I scored this great back yard roller coaster for $10.00

1. Wooden barn shelf, for the girls party and bed room $3.00
2. Plush rocking horse, FREE from a friends sales.
3. Sewing hoops $3.00
4. Two rosters FREE! they are going to be getting a makeover with a can of white spray paint.

I saw this HUGE wooden truck at a sale and there was no price on it. That usually means that they want WAY TO MUCH money for it. I have seen trucks like this at sale before for $100-$200.
I asked the man at the sale how much he wanted for it and he said $50.00. He sold it to me for $47 (that was all the money I had on me). It is now Penny's living room toy box and our coffee table when company comes over.

I found my coffee maker today. New in the box $5. I also got a wooden meat mallet $.15, a salad spinner $1.50, two brass candle stick $2.00 and a cake pan $.25.

Penny got a little wooden hight chair for $2.00 and a FREE elmo doll.

My three weekend shopping total was $78.35. Yeah I know that a lot for garage sales but I couldn't be happier with all my finds.

The Lake

Mr Tripp's father has made arrangement so that we are going to be able to use an empty lot on Vandercook Lake this summer. Mr. Tripp has been working hard to get the lot ready for us to use. He put the dock in on Sunday, set up a shed this past Tuesday and Today put his father's boat in the lake.

The kids are loving the lake. I think lakes are dirty, smelly and just yucky. I would much rather be sitting by a nice clean pool. The kids are so in love with the lake, I'm going to have to suck it up and get some sand in my suit.

the attic

This past Thursday I cleaned out our attic. I was a BIG job but its nice to have it done.
After I finished my job Mr. Tripp and the kiddos headed up to inspect my work.
Really its just fun to play in the attic. The kiddos love to go up and check out all the treasures that we have stashed away up there. Mr. Tripp pulled out a box of his old high school art work, basketball cards and star war cups plus lots of other forgot things. I have often times thought it would nice to convert our attic into a third floor bedroom,
Mr. Tripp always says no.
What great treasure to you have tucked away?
