Thrift Store Finds

Happy Easter!

I know I'm a day late but it was a crazy weekend. On Friday our new puppy came in from Texas, I'll post pictures of her soon. Saturday Mr. Tripp and I had a funeral to attend. It was less of a funeral and more of a celebrations. Our friend Kevin lived the kind of life that most could only aspire to live. Over 700 people came show the love to Kevin's family and celebrate him moving into his new house with the Lord.
And Sunday was Easter.
Can I get a HE HAS RISEN!!!

Any now today is Monday. My shopping day and shopping was good. Mr. Tripp cooked so much food for Easter dinner that we should be in leftovers of at least 3 if not 4 days. So shopping at Aldi's today was a breeze. Just a block away from Aldi's is goodwill. I was looking of size 2 boys shoes for PJ to play in, a king size wooden bed frame or a least head board and a tortilla press. I didn't find any of those things but I did find TONS of other treasurers.

Wooden cutting board $2, round baking stone $2, Pyrex bowl $3.00 and spring form pan $5

Milk glass vase $3, Three mason jars with old fashion lids $2 each, a bit steep but the lids are way cool and still have the glass seal inside of them and wooden napkin rings for $1.

We struck Elmo gold! A Elmo book for $.60, Elmo slippers $2 and a Elmo phone with battery that work $1. Penny has had her eye on this phone for a couple of months but I kept waiting for it to go on sale. ONLY $1.00! We are both thrilled with this great find.

I also got a two sided ironing board $3 and a Card wreath that I'm going to re-purpose $2.

Last week I picked up a couple of steals too.
Set of four ceramic jars $10.00 for the set.

A set of 10 glasses for $3.00. My grandmother had these same glass at her house when I was a little girl. I don't know what happened to them after she passed but I will be remind me of her when we use them.

There was some many other thing I wanted to get today but didn't, a giant mirror, Thomas the train play table, a huge grape vine wreath, cook book stand and many other trinkets but I refrained. We just don't have any space left.

thrift store make over

About two weeks ago I picked up three cheap plastic braclets for a dollar at a second hand store. Nothing specal and I see braclets like these all the time at thrift stores. Then I took a little trip down to the basement and found so long scraps of fabric about
2" x 25-30"
tie a knot and start wrapping. I kept my fabric pulled tight.
After the bracelet is wrapped tie an other knot. If you want you can put a dab of hot glue to keep your knot closed.
Snip off any extra fabric and...
Well as my Penny would say "pritteees mommy"

Thrift Store Finds

This past Tuesdays I went thrift store shopping! I got a lot of random stuff. Honestly I might have a shopping problem. I love it! I really do love to shop. It makes me happy. I know that is a sad, sad thing but its true. So I stick to the thrift stores and the sales rack so I don't get myself in trouble with Mr. Tripp.

Really all the stuff I bought was stuff I really liked or did need, so that makes it OK. Right?

This first thing might seem odd. Its a turkey tea light holder from Avon. I bought it because I already have one at home just like it. It was my Great Grandmothers and I have never seen an other like it, so when I saw this at Goodwill I had to have. Now I have a set and it was only $2.00.

Second is this little wooden tool box. Also only $2.00 from goodwill. Ella has carried around all week like a purse.

I love milk glass and I found this fruit bowl of $5.00.

$8.00 for all four dresses, and the best part is that they are from the Gap and Gymboree.

With 5 kids we burn though white glue, $1.70 for all three

$2.00 for egg dye.

I found this two teared metal plater for $3.50. I might paint it white to go with my other platers and cake stands.

I have already done a project that I will be sharing later with these plastic bangles. $1.00 for all 3.

This set of napkin rings I paid $1.00 for
it is going to my project bin too.

Yes, I all ready have the exact same punch bowl and cup set but I really just bought a second set for the extra cups.
It was only $6.00.

And the best find of the day was an old typewriter. $3.00 and its works. My kiddos have been having a blast with it.

Yes I have a problem
and no I don't plain on doing anything about it.

Thrift Store Fiinds

As usual I stopped at Encore to see what deals there were to be had. I'v been looking for large mason jars with hinger lids but no luck today. Well I was there I ran into a friend of a friend and her two little girls. I would like to ask her to be friends, how do you ask some to be your friend as a adult? I have a hard time with that. Any ways back to encore. I didn't leave empty handed.
sewing hops $1 each / milk glass goblets. I saw them 2 mns. ago and have been thinking about them ever since $7.50 for the set.
boots for the baby $2.00
Ikea dish rack $2.50 / brand new back pack, $2 / vintage (like the 80's) neckless $4

$20 total. I'd say it was a good day at the thrift store.
